I want to explain why I do a monthly net worth update.
- Keep me accountable
- Track my journey
- Prove that anyone can become a millionaire
- Prove that FIRE works
Another month and I’m still inching my way closer to FIRE! Stay consistent and keep investing like it’s going out of style.
This month I made $6,099.
Expenses total right at $3,272.
This month I saved $2,827 which is right around a 47% savings rate.
- $2,827 Crypto Account
I am now wanting to keep track of side hustle money. One of my 2021 aspirations is to make more side hustle money. I figure why not it’s more money to invest and maybe another stream of income once I FIRE!
- $80 on Affiliate links
Side Hustle Income: $80
Net Worth: $348,998
That is a +$9,663 gain since last month’s net worth update for December was $339,335
This is where it gets a little sticky now. My net worth posted on Personal Capital in the sleek graph below is wrong. Still, have some of that crypto that would not link to Personal Capital. It also is showing my Feb 1st $2,900 paycheck so the net worth above is correct!
This month flew by for me! Probably because I took two weeks of vacation time in it. We had a good time and took the RV on a fun adventure. The market has droped a bit toward the end of this month. Yet it’s no big deal it just means I’m buying more shares for a cheaper price.
It sucks a little seeing your net worth go down. But the math shows once the market starts to climb my wealth will grow even faster by owning more shares. I have still been getting some flak on social media for my lifestyle choices like living in an RV and saving and investing for FIRE. Kind of funny kind of sad to be honest. But hey I can’t force people to care about their finances.
I’m inching my way to that next six-figure mark of $400K. It’s getting faster as I keep stacking my investing. This simple, easy and lazy strategy just works.
Well, life is good. I am trying to stay focused on what brings me value and fulfillment. The hardest thing has been trying to do all those things at once. But it’s ok to take a step back and drop a few balls.
Had some fun adventures in January and will be writing about them in another post soon! I’m slowly still finding stuff to donate or throw away that I don’t get value out of or use. It’s intresting even living in a RV for a year I still have too much stuff.
Barista and Coast FIRE group.
I have created a FIRE group for Barista and Coast FIRE people. I saw there was a gap in the community and these paths seem like the more enjoyable path. So I said, “why the hell not take on this as a passion project?”
One of my desires this year is to really get and build more community! Here is the Barista and Coast FIRE group HERE.
