I want to explain why I do a monthly net worth update.
- Keep me accountable
- Track my journey
- Prove that anyone can become a millionaire
- Prove that FIRE works
Another month and I’m still inching my way closer to FIRE! Stay consistent and keep investing like it’s going out of style.
This month I made $8,682.
Expenses total right at $2,256.
This month I saved $3,800 which is right around a 44% savings rate.
- $3,500 VANGUARD Taxable Account
- $300 RV Principle (Not sure if I really consider this savings)
I am now wanting to keep track of side hustle money. One of my 2021 aspirations is to make more side hustle money. I figure why not it’s more money to invest and maybe another stream of income once I FIRE!
- $175 on Affiliate links
- $130 Coaching
Side Hustle Income: $305
Net Worth: $339,335
That is a +$18,012 gain since last month’s net worth update for November was $321,323
This is where it gets a little sticky now. My net worth posted on Personal Capital in the sleek graph below is wrong. Still, have some of that crypto that would not link to Personal Capital. It also is showing my Jan 1st $3,907 paycheck so the net worth above is correct!
So December’s numbers are not perfect. There are a few reasons for this. There are a few expenses that still have not come out. One is we got more work done to our solar and we have not paid for our current RV spot. On top of that, I probably saved a bit more than what I put as I am waiting for these expenses to clear before I invest the rest. Either way still an incredible month for my finances. Also as you can see I have added a side hustle section. I want to focus a bit more on earning side hustle money 2021. Lastly, I spent some money this month to start learning more SEO. Another aspiration of mine is to consider increasing my traffic and start monetizing the site.
December flew by for me. We did not go on too many adventures this month. Went on a few short hikes in the local area. Here is a great video of Kodiak doing what he loves…
This month marks us living full-time in our RV for 1 year! I still love the lifestyle and plan to keep doing it going forward. Just actually did another round of donating things. It’s crazy how few things I actually use regularly or value enough to keep.
I have also started a passion project of creating a Facebook group for fitness (below) and one for Barista and Coast FIRE. I have not found any Barista or Coast FIRE groups so I decided I’ll cultivate them. This is another focus for me in 2021. I want to build more of a community.
Here is the Barista and Coast FIRE group HERE.
