    Q2 2022 Dividend Payout

    August 26, 2022

I want to explain why I do a quarterly dividend update.

    • Track how much dividends I make
    • Prove that anyone can become a millionaire
    • Prove that FIRE works

    Dividend Investing

I’m by no means a Die Hard Dividend Investor. Yet my simple investing strategy does net me dividends that I just have reinvested to build me more dividends and wealth. It’s honestly the perfect cycle to Freedom. I have seen a few people track their dividends over the years and thought why the hell not? It sounds like it would be fun to see how these grow over the years.

By the way, I love Personal Capital to track all my incoming Dividends and my Net Worth!

    The Break Down

Here are what funds and the dividends I have received from them.

    Taxable Account Vanguard

    • VTSAX $750

    Roth IRA Vanguard

    • VTSAX $80

    Total $830

That is a +$57 gain in dividends since last quarter’s dividend update was $773.

    2022 Dividend Total $1,603

    The After Math

Wow, $830 this quarter for the dividend payout. I love getting free money to do nothing. This is why I love being an Index investor. I get the gains of the value of the shares going up over time plus the dividend payout.

Truth be told I don’t like dividends. Because they are tax-inefficient. I don’t get to choose when to get them. But hey I get them and that is all that matters. I can’t control if I get them or not so no reason to focus on that part.

If these dividends continue at this rate I will earn around $3,000 this year from them. That is not bad at all to do nothing. Well, hope you enjoyed the dividend update.
