I want to explain why I do a quarterly dividend update.
- Track how much dividends I make
- Prove that anyone can become a millionaire
- Prove that FIRE works

Dividend Investing
I’m by no means a Die Hard Dividend Investor. Yet my simple investing strategy does net me dividends that I just have reinvested to build me more dividends and wealth. It’s honestly the perfect cycle to Freedom. I have seen a few people track their dividends over the years and thought why the hell not? It sounds like it would be fun to see how these grow over the years.
By the way, I love Personal Capital to track all my incoming Dividends and my Net Worth!
The Break Down
Here are the funds and the dividends I have received from them.
Taxable Accounts
- VTSAX $1,665
- IBKR $5
- Money Market $680
- M1 $14
Roth IRA Vanguard
- VTSAX $708
Total $3,072
2024 Dividend Total $3,072
The After Math
I have not done a dividend update in a few years and wanted to see how my dividends add up now that I have a pretty big wealth stash. Well in 2022 my dividend payout was around $3,000. As you can see above I have hit over that number just from Q1 & Q2 of this year.
Remember I am not a big fan of dividend investing because it’s not tax-efficient. After all, I can’t control when I get that money. Yet with my focus on low-cost index funds, I am going to get dividends and I just keep re-investing them.
At this rate, it looks like I will reach around $6,000 in dividends in 2024. But we will see and I will start tracking them again.
