Why Fitness?
It’s about time I start to write about my fitness journey. I mean it is part of the name of my blog lol. I feel words and pictures can only deliver so much when it comes to fitness for people. So I decided to create a Youtube Channel where I will share all my fitness stuff! Check it out here. Functional fitness is a lifestyle that can be done from anywhere you are!

What Is My Style Of Fitness?
For me, I enjoy and focus on a few things…
- Functional
- Endurance
- Body Weight
- Conditioning
- Flexibility
- Effectiveness
- Longativaty
For me, all my training is focused on the list above. It has too as this is very important to me. I could care less If I can bench press 500 pounds if I can’t run 4 miles without being exhausted, even though it sounds cool. I would rather be well-rounded and healthy for the years to come.
I’m training to be a Functional Fit Warrior, not a gym bro!
What is functional fitness training?
Functional fitness exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work, or in sports. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability.
For example, a squat is a functional exercise because it trains the muscles used when you rise up and down from a chair or pick up low objects. By training your muscles to work the way they do in everyday tasks, you prepare your body to perform well in a variety of common situations.
Functional fitness exercises can be done at your pace from any location. For example, you can use resistance bands at home or do bodyweight movements such as pushups, situps, planks, and squats.

The Benefits Of Functional Fitness Training
Functional exercises tend to use multiple joints and numerous muscles. Instead of only moving the elbows, for example, a functional exercise might involve the elbows, shoulders, spine, hips, knees, and ankles. This type of training, properly applied, can make everyday activities easier, help reduce your risk of injury, and improve your quality of life.
Functional fitness can help improve daily life by strengthening muscles to prepare them for everyday tasks and activities.
Is Functional Training For Everyone?
Mostly using your body weight, this form of strength training is simple and safe for almost anyone. Everyone from professional athletes to grandmothers can benefit. Functional training is infinitely customizable and can be tailored to everyone’s daily living requirements. Of course, always consult your doctor if you have any injuries or prior injuries before starting a new fitness routine.
Portability
I love functional bodyweight training because it’s uniquely portable. You can do these exercises anywhere in the world. You don’t need to bring a bunch of heavyweights to get a great workout in. I have used this style of training all over from the beach, woods, park, concrete to inside my RV. Living full-time in an RV I needed to find a training style that was fun, simple, and worked while not having to add more stuff to our tiny space.
No Gym No Fancy Gear Needed
You don’t need a gym or any fancy gear to be in the best shape of your life. I will show you how to get fit, stay healthy, and be the best version of yourself. No matter what that goal might be. You can achieve it! Check out my Friday Fit: Week 5 workout!
My Background
My background in fitness is very extensive. I have been passionate about fitness for over 20 years. I use to compete in Olympic lifting competitions and never lost in my weight class. Part of my job in the Marines is to track, advise, and personally train Marines that are overweight. Some of my schoolings included 14 weeks in Quantico VA, to become a Martial Arts Instructor Trainer and a Force Fitness Instructor. I have trained 1,000s of Marines in functional routines that reduce injury, increase strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and endurance. I have helped thousands of people lose weight to get into a healthier life routine.

Today’s Workout!!!
Another burpee slay session here. This one is a single-count burpee and then a push-up. It’s not only a great total body workout, it hits the core stabilizer muscles. No fancy equipment or gym is needed! Let’s get fitter, healthier, and happier 1% at a time.
Most of my routines probably suck! They are supposed to because that is what will get you to get in better shape. This will build resiliency and mental toughness. That will help you achieve not just your fitness goals but life goals as well.
As always make sure you warm up properly before the workout!
