First, I want to review a few key points on why I want to do this monthly RV cost review.

    • I have not found any Full-Time RV living cost breakdowns

    RV Lifestyle Thoughts

This month, I found a small soft spot on the slideout floor. But this soft spot was not inside the RV; it was on the outside and was maybe the size of a half dollar. I decided to tear the trim off the slideout to assess how bad it was. Then I put a fan on that spot to let it dry out. Well, after a few days of this, I had some small wood rot. I was pretty upset at this point as it seemed it’s been one thing after another with the RV over the last year.

So I started to pull out all the rotted wood and used wood hardener once it was all removed. It created a little cavern of sorts. There was good wood underneath and above, but now I had the cavern of nothingness. The wood hardener did its job and made the surrounding wood super hard. I decided to use fiberglass bondo to fill that caveren up, which turned out to be a lot harder of a job than I expected it to be. Well, it’s all patched up, and that spot is as hard as a rock now.

But this was a turning point for me. This project took me about 4 days to do. What I realized is I could have been doing so many more things over those four days than fixing another issue with the RV. So I have finally decided it was time to move on from this RV. I started to look at upgrading to a luxury RV, buying a house, or moving into an apartment. These have all been on my mind for months, but now I am putting in the time to go and look in person at each one of these paths.

It’s just another month in the RV adventure life.

In case you missed it, here is last month’s breakdown. Keep on the journey and path!
