I want to explain why I do a monthly net worth update.
- Keep me accountable
- Track my journey
- Prove that anyone can become a millionaire
- Prove that FIRE works
Another month and I’m still inching my way closer to FIRE! Stay consistent and keep investing like it’s going out of style.
This month I made $6,541.
Expenses total right at $3,840.
This month I have no idea what I saved. It was a crazy month due to the land deal falling through. I feel like money went all over the place due to this. Then I went on vacation so I just left it all in shambles. Yet I transferred everything into crypto. That is right around a 54% savings rate.
- $1,811 TSP
- $2,701 Crypto Account
Checkout CC hacking it saves me a ton of money!
Side Hustle Income: $299.80
This month I had freelance work and did DoorDash. I also am now earning interest in my BlockFI crypto account. Not sure if I count that as a side hustle though. Most of this side hustle money is from DoorDash.
Net Worth: $417,492
That is a +$1,224 gain since last month’s net worth update for March was $416,268
This is where it gets a little sticky now. My net worth posted on Personal Capital in the sleek graph below is wrong. Still, have some of that crypto that would not link to Personal Capital.
I love using Personal Capital to track my Wealth.
Wow, barely made a positive gain this month! That is part of the journey though I am fine seeing my net worth go down as that just means stocks and crypto are on sale. My crypto holding is slowly growing even with the recent drop. I’m really loving earning so much money on my crypto.
BlockFI is what I use to optimize my crypto accounts to build more wealth.
Each little step I optimize the better my results become. For me, it’s all about the math right now to build my wealth stash. This is not saying I don’t spend money. I spend money based on what I value and what will bring me long-term joy.
Now that the land deal fell through the cracks I will be investing even more money adding to my liquid wealth. This is not a bad spot to be in. I’m here because I put into play a plan and took action on it and now I have flexibility and freedom.
I Hit Financial Independence!!!
That’s right I have hit FI in less than 10 years! I remember being lost, and straight out scared in 2015 that I would never be able to retire. At that time I had about $20K to my name. Today as you can see above I have over a $417,000 net worth. My plan is simple to stay flexible and keeps my living expenses low while enjoying life.
$400,000 at a 4.3% SWR will give me $17,200 of passive income forever. That might not seem like a lot and to me that is a lot of money to get for doing nothing. Our expenses here in SD are only $32,000 a year. This is with us not cheating out on where we stay with the RV and even going out to eat and shopping. So right now $17,200 would cover my half.
This is with us living on the beach on Coronado Island and on the harbor downtown. I could cut this down a ton if we wanted to stay at RV parks that were cheaper.
Getting into nature and enjoying the moments is what I value. As you can probably tell by now if you follow my journey. That is why we go out and hike so much. Plus the dogs love adventures as well!
Just got back from two weeks of vacation and here are some pics of the fun. Went from San Diego all the way up to San Fransisco and back down through some national parks. This is why I love the RV life. We bring our house with us no matter where we go. It allows us free stays in so many cool locations that most don’t get to see. Or if they do they are sleeping in a car, van or tent and we get to stay in our nice warm bed.
Don’t overcomplicate things in your life. People tend to overcomplicate so much of their lives that they are always having bad days. Life is beautiful be thankful you are alive and in a position you are.
For those of you that have been following my Net Worth Updates can probably skip the rest of this post.
Barista and Coast FIRE group.
I have created a FIRE group for Barista and Coast FIRE people. I saw there was a gap in the community and these paths seem like the more enjoyable path. So I said, “why the hell not take on this as a passion project?”
One of my desires this year is to really get and build more community! Here is the Barista and Coast FIRE group HERE.
