I want to explain why I do a monthly net worth update.
- Keep me accountable
- Track my journey
- Prove that anyone can become a millionaire
- Prove that FIRE works
Another month and I’m still inching my way closer to FIRE! Stay consistent and keep investing like it’s going out of style.
This month I made $6,099.
Expenses total right at $1,806.
I saved $5,760 this month. That is right around a 72% savings rate! I’m finally back baby.
- $2,000 Crypto
- $1,900 Taxable Account
- $1,860 TSP
Check out CC hacking it saves me a ton of money!
Side Hustle Income: $50
This month I made $50 in side hustle money. I also am now earning interest in my BlockFI crypto account. Not sure if I count that as a side hustle though.
Net Worth: $466,322
That is a +$8,710 gain since last month’s net worth update for January was $457,612.
This is where it gets a little sticky now. My net worth posted on Personal Capital in the sleek graph below is wrong. Still, have some of that crypto that would not link to Personal Capital.
I love using Personal Capital to track my Wealth.
Just as I knew it would my wealth stash is starting to go back up. While I see everyone in the FI/FIRE groups going crazy over a little dip I’m sticking to my plan. I learned a few years ago to keep emotions out of investing and by doing that it was a game-changer.
I’m a long-term planner in life. I’m no different with my investing style. I keep it simple, sustainable, and profitable for the long haul.
Shut out the noise and focus on what you can control. You can’t control that Russia invaded Ukraine. Yet I see many people focused on trying to guess how that invasion will affect our markets here. As a Marine, it’s interesting every time people see something like this that the media shows and Americans act like this is the first conflict that has happened. Conflict happens every day in this world, I have witnessed it many times over.
The only thing I can do is make sure I am physically and mentally ready if I am called to deploy forward to help and support in this conflict. Having been to Iraq in 2006,2007, 2008, and Afghanistan in 2012 has given me a different outlook on life and conflicts. Having lost many close friends in combat still impacts me to this day. There will always be conflict in this world as long as there are people.
Well sorry about that soapbox, I’m trying to be more personal in my writing and even am planning to tackle some very personal posts that I am still not comfortable with publishing.
For this blog, I only show my portfolio and don’t show our combined portfolio. I’ll leave it at we are doing very well and way above average. Which makes going to work that much harder every day! But I plan to pull the RE card in the summer of 2024.
Those of you that have been following my Net Worth Updates can probably skip the rest of this post.
Barista and Coast FIRE group.
I have created a FIRE group for Barista and Coast FIRE people. I saw there was a gap in the community and these paths seem like the more enjoyable path. So I said, “I have to take on this passion project.”
One of my desires this year is to get and build more community! Here is the Barista and Coast FIRE group HERE.
